Lt.-Gen. Ralph Jodice II Visits Hungary

Lt.-Gen. Ralph Jodice II, the Commander of NATO Allied Air Command Headquarters Izmir paid an official working visit to Hungary. Brig.-Gen. Albert Sáfár, the Air Force Chief of the HDF Joint Force Command received the guest and the members of the delegation accompanying him – who were staying in Hungary between April 16 and 18 – at the Budapest Liszt Ferenc Airport.

After the arrival the high-ranking guest visited the HDF Pápa Air Base, where he was updated on the current status of the Heavy Airlift Wing (HAW) and the NATO Airlift Management Agency (NAMA), then went to see the fleet of C-17 transport aircraft stationed at the Air Base.

On Wednesday, April 18 Lt.-Gen. Dr. Zoltán Orosz, the Deputy Chief of the MoD Defence Staff received the delegation on a courtesy call in the Ministry of Defence, as part of its official program. At the meeting the two sides discussed the lessons learned in the military operations in Libya, the Baltic Air Policing and the current tasks of the Hungarian Air Force.

In closing the official program, Lt.-Gen. Jodice held a presentation to inform the leaders of the MoD Defence Staff and the HDF Joint Force Command about the lessons learned during Operation Unified Protector in Libya.
