Hungarian advisors recently organized a mortar live fire exercise in Afghanistan. During the exercise, the personnel of the Afghan Border Police (ABP) demonstrated their high level of preparedness.

It was Maj. Zsolt Mohos who came up with the idea of the G7 Shura, a regular meeting of training chiefs of armed law enforcement organizations deployed in the northern region of Afghanistan. He is a training advisor serving with the advisory team of the Afghan Border Police 806th Zone Headquarters (ABP 806th ZONE HQ).

The objective of the Shura is to coordinate training activities and to deal cost-effectively with capability shortfalls through mutual use of each other’s strengths. The event was considered important by the Train, Advise Assist Command – North Headquarters (TAAC-N HQ) and was taken seriously by the advisor team that arrived in mid-May. Following the third Shura, the training chief visited the Afghan National Army 209th Corps (ANA 209th CORPS).
