Peace Support – Excellent Performance
Szöveg: Lt. Attila Géczi | 2017. július 7. 9:00The multinational tactical exercise Platinum Wolf 2017 has ended in Serbia. On the Distinguished Visitors’ Day, the soldiers of participating nations held a culmination exercise to demonstrate their skills acquired during the training event.
Hungary was represented at the two-week multinational exercise with a designated sub-unit of the 21st rotation of the HDF EUFOR Contingent (EUFOR-21 HUNCON). Drawn from the soldiers of the HDF 12th Arrabona Surface-to-Air Missile Regiment, the contingent is conducting its pre-deployment training for the Bosnia-Herzegovina mission.
The guests attending the Distinguished Visitors’ (DV) Day of the exercise – which is running with the participation of nine nations – were able to observe the peace support operations learned by the participants in the first week of the training event, with topics covering combat life saver (CLS), crowd and riot control (CRC), urban combat, MEDEVAC as well as mounted and dismounted patrolling.
The DV Day was attended by Lt.-Col. Tibor Matyi, Deputy Commander, HDF 12th Arrabona Surface-to-Air Missile Regiment; EUFOR-20 HUNCON Commander Lt.-Col. István Megtért, Chief of Staff, HDF 43rd Nagysándor József Signal and Command Support Regiment; and Maj. Gusztáv Könyves, senior officer in charge of pre-deployment training at the Training Directorate of the HDF Joint Force Command.
The guests said thanks for the Hungarian soldiers’ outstanding attitude, and spoke with appreciation about the professional work done in an international environment. At the end of the DV Day, tokens of appreciation were presented to Capt. József Székács, 1st Lt. Nándor Major and SSgt. Bálint Bethlen for their outstanding task execution during exercise Platinum Wolf 2017.
