Republic Day in Italy

Szöveg: Dr. P. V. |  2013. június 6. 18:00

On June 2 the birth of the Italian Republic was commemorated for the 67th time around Italy. After the fall of Fascism, on June 2, 1946 Italian citizens held a referendum and voted for the new form of state, the republic to replace the monarchy.

Italy celebrates the birth of the nation on June 2, just like the French their Bastille Day on July 14, Americans their Independence Day on July 4 or Hungarians the Day of St. Stephen on August 20.

This time again, the traditional military parade was held again in Rome, where in addition to the Italian armed forces, the participants also included the representatives from allied countries.
