The participants gathered at the Sector HQ in Famagusta in order to match their strength and endurance with one another during the day. The sectors were supposed to enter seven-man teams for the contest: the team of the hosts included three Hungarian soldiers, Maj. Szabolcs Bódog, Cpl. Krisztián Kókai and PV2 Barnabás Boros.

The first event tested the sportsmen’s endurance. The teams had to complete two laps on a 600-meter track while carrying a log in the second one. This was followed by a bench press event, in which the Hungarian–Slovak–Serb team proved to be the best. Then came the thug-of-war and truck pulling events in the program. The last special event was called “Laser Strike", in which two teams were “fighting" against each other with special equipment on an indoor range. The host team was placed first in this event as well.

Having taken the joint luncheon, the competitors participated in the prize-giving ceremony, where Maj.-Gen. Chao Liu, UNFICYP Force Commander handed over the diplomas and the cup to the winning team. The team of Sector 2 was placed first, the second place went to the team of Sector 4 (including the Hungarians) and the team of the Mobile Force Reserve (MFR) which finished in a dead heat, whereas the team of Sector 1 was placed third.
