Top-Class Program on the Day of Culture
Szöveg: S/Sgt. Andor Gyeginszky | 2012. január 31. 8:46On Monday, January 23 the HDF Pápa Air Base organized a ceremonial staff meeting to mark the Day of Hungarian Culture. The leadership of the Heavy Airlift Wing (HAW) – a unit stationed on the Air Base – was also represented at the event.
“The commemorations held in connection with the anniversary provide us with an opportunity to pay increased attention to our millennial traditions and roots, and to strengthen our national consciousness, to show up and pass on the material and spiritual values that remind us of our past", WO Éva Szabó Soproniné said in her ceremonial speech.
The students of the Allegro Basic Art School of Pápa gave a top-class performance at the ceremony. They provided the soldiers of the Pápa Air Base and the foreign officers serving there with a deep insight into the richness of Hungarian culture.
After the ceremonial program, the participants went to see the traveling exhibition entitled “Historical uniforms" in the community center of the unit. The exhibition traces the history of the uniforms that were worn in Hungary from the age of the Hungarian Conquest to the end of the 19th century.
