Whirlwind Visit and Promotion

On Friday, June 13 Col. Manfred Knopp, Germany’s defence attaché accredited to Hungary paid a whirlwind visit to the HDF Peace Support Training Centre (PSTC) in Szolnok.

The aim of his visit was to promote to Major Capt. Alexander Gebhart, a German student of the 27th International Military Observer Course (IMOC). The preparations had been made in total secrecy, so the event came as a huge surprise to the German officer.

After the official order of promotion was read out, Capt. Gebhart received his new major’s rank insignia.
