Full Operational Capability Achieved

Prior to the handover-takeover, the 19th rotation of the HDF KFOR Contingent (KFOR-19 HUNCON) carried out the FOC – Full Operational Capability – validation exercise.

The majority of the Contingent’s personnel arrived at the Balkan theatre at the beginning of September. First the ALPHA Company of the Contingent started the in-theatre training for the evaluation, which took place the 12th September in Camp Vrelo, near Pristina. In what follows, the BRAVO Company of the Battalion also successfully performed the exercise the 20th September, through which the KTRBN – KFOR – Tactical Reserve Battalion, operating directly under the KFORCOM control, proved fully prepared for the operational tasks.

Each subunit of the battalion participated in the exercise, as in the background of the manoeuvre companies’ activity an important planning, operational, telecommunication, logistical and health support must operate efficiently. Moreover, the appropriate interoperability of the affected subunits with the soldiers of other nations serving in KFOR during the CRC-tasks played an important part in the conduct of the FOC exercise.

The exercises were assessed entirely satisfactory by Lieutenant Colonel Sándor Horváth, the Commander of the 18th Rotation of the HDF KFOR Contingent (KFOR-18 HUNCON), who congratulated on the successful conduct, and wished every success to the Commander of the incoming Contingent Lieutenant Colonel Bálint Legoza. Brigadier General János Csombók, the Deputy Commander of the KFOR mission (DCOM KFOR) also inspected the readiness of the battalion, who based on his impressions, spoke to the personnel of the manoeuvre companies and to all the subunits participating in the validation exercises with satisfaction.
