NATO Medals Awarded to Hungarian Soldiers in Kosovo

Csaba Búz | 2019. augusztus 24. 7:48As the the end of their six-month mission abroad is drawing near, at the end of March, the soldiers serving in individual positions at the KFOR Headquarters received NATO Medals. Major General Lorenzo D’Addario, the Commander of KFOR (COM KFOR) also graced the ceremony with his appearance.

Major General D’Addario, as the Commander of the forces stationing in Kosovo, thanked everyone, and all participating NATO and non-NATO countries for their efforts made for the common goal, and also for the commitment dedicated to KFOR. “Today’s event is very important, as it shows the unity, which NATO means here, in Kosovo, where we work together on the preservation of peace" – Major General D’Addario pointed out.
Approaching the end of his second mission abroad, Lt.-Col. András Somlai-Kiss, as the Senior National Representative (SNR), said, that Hungarian soldiers have worked and are working at different areas of the KFOR Headquarters – from the position of the staff director through logistics to air control. “With regard to the work carried out, we received recognitions from all nations, everybody is satisfied with the work of the Hungarian soldiers" – the Lieutenant Colonel said.
NATO Non-Article 5 Medals were awarded to nearly twenty Hungarian soldiers, in addition to the service members of several other nations at the present ceremony
