NATO Military Committee Conference in Poland

NATO’s highest-level military authority, the Military Committee (MC) met in Warsaw on Saturday. The chiefs of defence (CHODs) meet once a year in such an off-site format to discuss NATO’s priority strategic issues. Hungary was represented by the Chief of the HDF General Staff, Lieutenant General Ferenc Korom in the event.

Visit of the American Vice Director for Joint Training at the HDF General Staff

In the organisation of the Hungarian Defence Staff Training and Education Directorate, for strengthening the Hungarian-American bilateral relations, Ms. Monica Shephard, US Vice Director for Joint Force Development J7 paid a five-day visit to Hungary between May 7-11.

Chief of Defence continues border inspection tour

On Wednesday, 23 November Chief of Defence Gen. Dr. Tibor Benkő continued his visit along the border which started on Monday. In the first days of the week, he stopped at seven sites set up by the Hungarian Defence Forces on the route Hódmezővásárhely–Röszke–Bácsalmás–Mélykút. On Wednesday, he met soldiers patrolling the areas of Madaras, Bácsbokod, Baja and Homorúd as well as the security border barrier among these settlements.

Chief of Defence Visits Sarajevo

On 10–11 November, Chief of Defence Gen. Dr. Tibor Benkő visited the Hungarian soldiers serving in the theatre in Bosnia-Herzegovina. During his two-day stay, he also met with the commanders of higher staff elements responsible for tasking the Hungarian contingent.
