EUFOR Medal Parade

On 23 February 2016, personnel from the Austrian and Dutch contingent of the European Union Force (EUFOR) Mission were presented with their EU Common Security and Defence Policy Service Medal Operation ALTHEA by the Chief of Staff of EUFOR, Brigadier General Zoltán Mihócza.

EUFOR Helicopter Supports Rescue During Mountain Accident

On Sunday 7 February 2016, a call was received by EUFOR’s Austrian National Contingent Commander (NCC), Colonel Peterlini from the Austrian Defence Attaché (DA) in Sarajevo, Doctor Pesendorfer. The DA had been informed that a serious accident had occurred on the Bjelašnica mountain, so he swung into action to gain the direct support of EUFOR. Without any delay, HQ EUFOR’s Air Operation’s team sought permission from Commander EUFOR, Major General Johann Luif to launch one of the EUFOR Operation ALTHEA’s air assets. Knowing it was a life threating situation, the Commander immediately gave the green light for EUFOR to support this important request.
EUFOR and AF BiH Sign Agreement on Armed Forces Capabilities Development

On 1 February 2016, the Deputy Chief of Staff for operations of the Armed Forces of Bosnia and Herzegovina (AF BiH), Major General Mirko Tepšić and Chief of Staff of the European Union Force (COS EUFOR), Brigadier General Zoltán Mihócza (Hungarian Army) signed an agreement which focused on evaluating and developing the capabilities of the AF BiH.

On 19 January 2016, Deputy Commander Allied Joint Force Command (DCOM JFC) Naples, Lieutenant General Alain J. Parent visited the Headquarters European Union Force (HQ EUFOR), Camp Butmir and was met by the Chief of Staff (COS) EUFOR, Brigadier General Zoltán Mihócza.
Jelvényátadó ünnepség az EUFOR Többnemzeti Zászlóaljánál

Január 13-án, a szarajevói Butmir táborban jelvényátadó ünnepséget rendeztek az EUFOR Többnemzeti Zászlóalj (EUFOR MNBN) új magyar katonái számára. A szimbolikus ünnepséget követően a magyar század tagjait és a törzsbeosztásokban szolgáló katonákat az osztrák Reinhard Bacher alezredes, a többnemzeti zászlóalj parancsnoka hivatalosan is befogadta az alakulatba.
Badge Ceremony of the European Union Force Multinational Battalion

On the 13 January 2016 at Camp Butmir, there was the badge ceremony for the new Hungarian soldiers of the European Union Force (EUFOR) Multinational Battalion (MNBN). Following this symbolic ceremony both the Hungarian Company, and staff serving soldiers, were formally accepted in to the MNBN by their Commanding Officer – Lieutenant Colonel Reinhard Bacher (Austrian Army).

On the 16th November 2016, Warrant Officer Zsolt Berek from the Hungarian Airforce handed back the EUFOR Command Sergeant Major’s stick to the Commander of the European Union Force, Major General Johann Luif.
