Harmincéves az MFO-misszió

Május 29-e a békefenntartás világnapja. Idén ezt a napot nemcsak az ENSZ ünnepli meg, hanem a sínai-félszigeti MFO (Multinational Force and Observers, Többnemzeti Erők és Megfigyelők) misszió is, hiszen pontosan harminc évvel ezelőtt érkeztek meg az első békefenntartók Egyiptomba.

…this was how the seventh rotation of the Mi-24 HDF Air Mentor Team arrived in Kabul. The C-160 Transall aircraft of the German Air Force played a considerable role in this. Fortunately, this time its fabulously sensitive self-protection (anti-missile countermeasure) system was not activated, so the one hour of flight time passed without much excitement. True, this meant that the spectacular popping of flares did not take place either.

Rotation Flight – Reporting from Afghanistan

After a five and a half hour flight, under cover of night, the Boeing C-17A Globemaster III strategic airlifter that had taken off from Pápa, Hungary landed on the aerodrome of the Mazar-e Sharif military base. In addition to the soldiers filling individual positions, the aircraft with SAC01 registration transported the Hungarian and US members of the eighth rotation of the HDF Operational Mentoring and Liaison Team (OMLT-8) – which has the mission of mentoring the infantrymen of the Afghan National Army (ANA) stationed in Baghlan Province –, as well as the third rotation of the Mi-17 Air Advisory Team (Mi-17 AAT-3) and the seventh rotation of the Mi-35 Air Mentor Team (Mi-35 AMT-7).

Csak egy ugrás… – Afganisztánból jelentjük

..és máris Kabulba ért a Mi-24 Air Mentor Team 7. váltásának (AMT-7) csapata. Ebben nagy szerepet játszott a német légierő C-160 Transall típusú repülőgépe. Legendásan érzékeny, a rakétaindítás veszélyére reagáló önvédelmi rendszere szerencsére most nem lépett működésbe, így különösebb izgalom nélkül telt el az egyórányi út. Igaz, így a látványos infracsapdaszórás is elmaradt…

Katonákat raboltak el az egyiptomi beduinok

Egyiptomi beduin fegyveresek rövid időre elraboltak május 7-én, hétfőn tíz külföldi katonát a Sínai-félszigeten, így akarták kikényszeríteni börtönben lévő rokonaik szabadon engedését.

Great Sporting Results in the MFO Mission

The MFO mission in the Sinai Peninsula annually organizes the Force Skills Competition to provide a venue for the teams of the contingents to match their military proficiency against each other. This year’s challenging competition was held between April 17 and 19.

Ragyogó sportsikerek az MFO-misszióban

A sínai-félszigeti MFO-misszióban minden évben hagyományosan megrendezik a Force Skills Competition elnevezésű versenyt, amelyen a kontingensek csapatai mérhetik össze katonai-szakmai tudásukat. Az idei, embert próbáló megmérettetést április 17–19. között tartották.
