Liaison Team Provides Assistance on Remote Sites

One of the core missions of the HDF Provincial Reconstruction Team is to support governmental and security organs. The HUN PRT Liaison Teams (LT) move around the districts in the area of responsibility of the contingent. Their main tasks include participation in negotiations with local leaders, and gathering information about the region. The areas in the north are quite difficult to access because sometimes they have to go across impassable mountain roads and riverbeds.

Missziós kulcsbeosztásokba készülnek

Neves védelem- és biztonságpolitikai szakemberek tartottak előadásokat április 3-án, kedden az MH Béketámogató Kiképző Központban: az MH Tartományi Újjáépítési Csoport (Provincial Reconstruction Team – MH PRT) 13. váltásának kulcsbeosztások ellátására készülő tagjai dr. Tálas Pétertől és Wagner Pétertől kaptak tájékoztatást Afganisztán jelenlegi belpolitikai helyzetéről. Ezzel párhuzamosan két másik misszióba induló csoport felkészítése és a Ciprusról hazaérkezettek visszaillesztése is most történik Szolnokon.

Finisben a felkészítés

A végéhez közeledik az MH Műveleti Tanácsadó és Összekötő Csoport (MH OMLT) nyolcadik váltásának felkészítése. A magyar és amerikai katonákból álló kontingens április 2–6. között különféle lőgyakorlatokat hajt végre a tatai MH 25. Klapka György Lövészdandár szomódi helyőrségi lőterén.

Távoli helyeken segített az összekötő csoport

Az MH Tartományi Újjáépítési Csoport (MH PRT) egyik alapvető feladata a kormányzati és biztonsági szervek támogatása. A kontingens felelősségi területéhez tartozó járásokat az összekötő csoportok (Liaison Team, LT) járják: fő feladataik közé tartozik a helyi vezetőkkel történő tárgyalásokon való részvétel, valamint információ gyűjtése a területekről. Az északi területeket igen nehéz megközelíteni, mivel néha járhatatlan hegyi utakon és köves folyómedreken kell átkelni.

Welcoming Spring and the New Year in Afghanistan

The New Year (Nowruz) started in Afghanistan on March 21. Afghans celebrate the first day of spring on this day too, which symbolizes renewal and hope. By tradition, landowners gather to welcome the New Year together and ask for blessing on a good harvest. Lt.-Col. János Somogyi, the commander of the HDF Provincial Reconstruction Team (HUN PRT) was invited to take part in this significant event.

US Ambassador Praises the Work of Hungarian Troops

Rescue with Hungarian Assistance

Rescue efforts lasted for three days along one of the busiest key commercial routes in Afghanistan. The troops of the HDF Provincial Reconstruction Team (HUN PRT) also joined the disaster relief operation. The several-day snowfall caused serious avalanches that killed three Afghans and injured 12 people. The roads became impassable, traffic stopped, and the snow-bound vehicles queued up along several kilometers.

The Minister of Defence attended in Szolnok the “Welcome Home” ceremony for the 11th rotation of the HDF Provincial Reconstruction Team (HUN PRT-11) and the farewell ceremony for the troops to deploy with the UN Peacekeeping Force in Cyprus (UNFICYP).
