During the skill retention target practice, the combat vehicle gunners of the contingent fired the M2 turret weapons fitted on the Mine Resistant Ambush Protected (MRAP) armored fighting vehicles, which are used for executing force protection tasks at KAIA. The soldiers have already had opportunity to practice with these weapons on their pre-deployment training in Hungary and also on the range day held in the area of operations.
The snipers fired on “hard-skinned" targets, i.e. on decommissioned combat vehicles. At first blush, this may seem an easy task to an outsider, but in fact this is only so because these soldiers serve in the same position at their home stations too.
