The event was attended by Defence Minister Dr. Csaba Hende, MoD State Secretary for Public Administration Lajos Fodor, Gen. Dr. Tibor Benkő, the Chief of the MoD Defence Staff, MoD Cabinet Chief Dr. Gábor Szarka and the appointed generals’ family members and relatives.

On Tuesday, October 18 – acting on the Defence Minister’s proposal, on the occasion of October 23, Hungary’s national holiday – President of the Republic Dr. Pál Schmitt appointed to brigadier-general as of October 23, 2011 Col. Ernő Péter Siposs, the Chief of the MoD Defence Staff Force Planning Directorate, Col. Ferenc Korom, the Chief of the MoD Defence Staff Operations Directorate and Col. (Eng.) József Szpisják, the Head of the MoD Planning and Coordination Department.
As of November 1, 2011, the President of the Republic appointed to brigadier-general Col. Albert Sáfár, the Chief of the Hungarian Defence Forces Joint Force Command (HDF JFC) Air Operations and Training Department.
