The transfer of authority between the rotations has taken place in Camp Slim Lines, Pristina. From now on, the seventh rotation of the HDF KFOR Contingent (KFOR-7 HUNCON) officially conducts its activities in the area of operations in Kosovo. With the completion of the handover-takeover process for the tasks, the issues in progress, and the material stocks and military equipment, Lt.-Col. András Polyák, the commander of the KFOR-6 HUNCON and Lt.-Col. István Kása, the commander of the KFOR-7 HUNCON signed the transfer of authority documents.

The training for the infantry company started on the first day of the redeployment. Having
arrived in the area of operations, the Hungarian peacekeepers participated in familiarization
and local knowledge training sessions as well as in CRC practices on squad, platoon and
company levels. The personnel of the outgoing rotation gave the newcomers valuable
professional advice.

The infantry company took an exam in the acquired skills and its readiness to deploy with
peace support operations on a validation exercise on August 25. Lt.-Col. José Manuel Dos
Santos Sá, the commander of the KFOR Tactical Reserve Maneuver Battalion (KTM)
assessed the readiness state of the Hungarian troops as satisfactory.

The next day the transfer of authority ceremony between the sixth and seventh rotations of the
HDF KFOR Contingent took place in the camp. In keeping with the military regulations, Lt.-
Col. István Kása waved the unit colors and thereby took over the command of the contingent.

In his speech, he thanked the command group and the staff for their help and cooperation,
and went on pointing out that the objectives are to continue maintaining the high professional
standards of the outgoing rotation in the task execution, and through this to earn recognition
from the superiors and comrades and enhance the good reputation of the Hungarian Defence
Forces.
