The Competitors Faced Innumerable Challenges

The stations included different kinds of shooting, grenade throwing in various postures, a
crawl corridor and many other events testing the participants’ physical condition and skills.
Finding the control points on the way was a challenge in itself because the teams were able to
get to them only after a careful planning, with the use of compass and map.

In addition to the soldiers of the HDF vitéz Szurmay Sándor Budapest Garrison Brigade, the
participating teams came from the garrisons of Prague and Warsaw. Furthermore, the teams
of the National Police Headquarters, the Hungarian Prison Service HQ and the National
Directorate General for Disaster Management also entered the competition.

Before the contest, the teams took part in a cultural program – they visited the Parliament
building and the exhibitions of the MoD Military History Institute and Museum.
