American Colonel Receives Hungarian Military Decoration

Col. Paul Sarat, Deputy Commander, Train Advise Assist Command – North (TAAC-N) Afghanistan recently received a Hungarian military award at a ceremony. The US senior officer was commended by Col. Gábor Lőrincz, Hungarian senior national representative for his outstanding work done in the interest of Hungarian troops serving in the Afghanistan theatre of war and in Camp Marmal.

Col. Paul Sarat has been deputy commander of the TAAC-N since July 2, 2014. He is also commander of the US forces deployed in the northern region and is responsible for coordinating the task execution of the Special Operations Forces. In these positions, he has always paid special attention to creating the conditions for the task execution of Hungarian troops under him.

At the event, Col. Gábor Lőrincz handed over to Col. Paul Sarat the Gold Grade of the Service Medal of Merit awarded by the Minister of Defence.
