Changeover at the Representative’s Position in Brussels

BG Zoltán Mihócza, outgoing Military Representative bid farewell to the NATO and EU Military Committees after serving 2 years and 4 months. General Knud Bartels, Chairman of NATO’s Military Committee and General Patrick de Rousiers, Chairman of the EU Military Committee equally appraised the activity of BG Zoltán Mihócza performed as a Military Representative. Chairman of NATO’s Military Committee put special emphasis on the high-standard technical arrangement and running of the NATO CHODs Conference staged in Budapest in September 2013.

Dr. Péter Sztáray Ambassador to NATO and PSC Ambassador Dr. Károly Grúber, leading the Foreign and Security Office of the EU Permanent Representation assessed the Brussels service of BG Zoltán Mihócza as professional. Both of them highlighted that the Military Representative’s Office operating under his leadership built out an outstanding professional cooperation with the ally and the partner countries, which meant a safe grounding for the efficient representation of our national interests on the supreme forums of the NATO and the EU. BG Mihócza fulfils the position of the Deputy Chief of the HDF JFC as from November 16.

The new Military Representative of the HDF Office of the Military Representative Major General László Domján paid an introductory visit to the NATO and the EU Military Committees and at their Chairmen, as well as at the leaders of the Permanent Representations of Hungary to the EU and to the NATO, respectively. Following the expert reports of the Office of the Military Representative, the handover/takeover was announced at a staff meeting.
