On December 7, in the afternoon Chief of the General Staff of the Armed Forces of Montenegro Admiral Dragan Samardzić paid a visit to Camp Pannonia, Afghanistan, the camp of the HDF Provincial Reconstruction Team (HUN PRT), in Pol-e Khomri.

The helicopter of the Montenegrin Chief of the General Staff landed in the late afternoon hours at the heliport built near the camp. The delegation was received on the Hungarian side by Col. Dr. Romulusz Ruszin, the Commander of the HUN PRT, and on the Montenegrin side by First Lieutenant Miloś Gačevič, who is the Senior National Representative (SNR) of the Montenegrin Contingent. The Chief of the General Staff greeted the PRT-troops at the line-up arranged in his honour, and shortly praised the bravery of his fellow-countrymen, thanking for their devotional work.

The Commander of the HUN PRT informed the delegation about the duties of the Reconstruction Team and about the security situation of Baghlan Province. He put a special stress on the great help given to the Hungarians by the presence of the Montenegrin soldiers.

This was not the first time that Admiral Dragan Samardić visited the Montenegrin unit serving with the HUN PRT. The goal of his current visit was to make a national donation, which goes back to earlier times, and can already be referred to as a tradition. On December 8, the delegation handed over parcels of school supplies to the indigent students, in the school named Gowar Shad Beigum, in the Town of Pol-e Khomri, setting a good example for the military Allies with this gesture. About 500 students of the school received gifts. The HUN PRT CIMIC section provided great assistance in the procurement, the delivery and the organisation of the handover of the gifts. The parcels mainly consisted of stationeries and exercise books, which give a direct help to the students in learning how to read and write.

In the early evening hours the HUN PRT-11 Commander bid farewell to the Montenegrin delegation with a real Afghan dinner. During the event kebab, naan, that is Afghan bread, khabli palau, which is a kind of pilaff with carrot and raisin, and different fruits and vegetables were served up among others. The delegation left the Hungarian camp after dinner.
