In his speech delivered during the ceremony, Lt. Tamás Bencsik pointed out that 15 March is Hungary’s most significant national day. The revolutionary spirit of that age contributed to gaining full independence for Hungary, free elections and the democratic achievements of the last decades. He added that, while serving far from their families, the Hungarian peacekeepers earn esteem for Hungary day after day.

The staff meeting continued with awarding decorations. In recognition of their outstanding professionalism displayed in activities connected with handling the crisis situation caused by mass migration, the Minister of Defence of Hungary presented the “Service Medal for Handling the Migration Crisis Situation" to Lt. Tamás Bencsik, WO Zsolt Rocskár and SFC Erzsébet Palásti.
