COS EUFOR joins International War March
Szöveg: honvedelem.hu / euforbih.org | 2013. október 30. 8:39On 23 October 2013, the Chief of Staff of EUFOR, Brigadier General József Szpisják, joined military personnel from both EUFOR and NATO HQ Sa on a war road march near Mountain Igman, BiH. 7 international military personnel from both EUFOR HQ and NATO HQ Sa in Camp BUTMIR marched 13km along a 40 km road. The road was the main supply route for Sarajevo during the 1992-95 conflict.
The EUFOR HQ and NATO HQ Sarajevo representatives began the movement in a 4 vehicle convoy from Camp Butmir. They then marched on foot through Check Points, the former front line and memorial sites during the event including where US diplomats and French soldiers died in 1995. They also passed by a former British Observation Point.
The organizers of the Igman march (Lt Col Attila Murinko, and Mr. Muhidin Tutic, war veteran) developed the program with the intention of simulating the difficulties experienced by military personnel during the conflict.
