Exercise Allied Spirit I underway at Hohenfels, Germany

More than 800 participants from Canada, Hungary, the Netherlands, United Kingdom and the United States are participating in exercise Allied Spirit I at the Hohenfels Training Area in southeastern Germany, until Jan. 31, 2015.

Allied Spirit I is designed to provide multinational interoperability training at brigade and battalion levels to enhance U.S. and partner-nation effectiveness.

The training soldiers will experience in exercise Allied Spirit is a manifestation of the commitment of the U.S. Army and our Allies to NATO, said Lt. Gen Ben Hodges, commanding general, U.S. Army Europe.

 This exercise illustrates the value of America’s forward-stationed land forces and the value of the training facilities at Grafenwoehr and Hohenfels. It is a vital part of ‘Strong Europe,'" he said.

Media day will be held Jan. 23, 2015. Media will have the opportunity to observe training and have the opportunity to speak with Lt. Gen. Hodges and soldiers.
