The Deputy State Secretariat for Defence Economy of the Ministry of Defence is holding a German–Hungarian conference on armaments, logistics and military medical issues in the MoD Military History Institute and Museum on May 2-3. The main goals of the conference are to discuss the results achieved in the fields which the Ministers of Defence of the two countries had earlier specified and to explore the possibilities of further cooperation.
Gábor Márki pointed out that the agreement about armaments cooperation had been signed on 31 October 1996 between the two ministries. The main goal of the arrangement is to promote the armaments cooperation among the German and Hungarian companies and organisations. The agreement covers joint defence research and development, execution of joint armament plans and exchange of experiences in purchase of armaments.
“The main goal of our conference is to get to know each other’s capabilities and capacities better on the following issues: armaments, defence industries, logistics and military medical systems", the Deputy State Secretary for Defence Economy of the Ministry of Defence stressed.
Headed by Detlef Selhausen (German National Armaments Director), a delegation from the German Ministry of Defence also participates in the conference. The most significant companies of the Hungarian and German defence industries are represented as well.
