Military Medicine Training in Hamburg

Twelve representatives of six countries – the United States of America, the Czech Republic, Egypt, Georgia, Hungary and Portugal – participated in the interactive further education course of the experts working in the area of emergency medical treatment in the Bundeswehr Clinical Simulation Centre at the GE Armed Forces Hospital, Hamburg.

The three-member multinational groups had to face with increasingly difficult challenges – in addition to constantly changing their composition during the simulation of emergency medical treatment. Hungary was represented by two members of the National Ambulance Service and also of the Hungarian National Organisation for Rescue Services under the auspices of the Ministry of the Interior National Directorate General for Disaster Management (NGDGM), Dr. Krisztina Székely emergency physician, paramedics Péter Gedei and Kamilla Kovács and the instructor of the HDF Medical Centre, Medical Training Base.

The Emergency Medical Treatment course organised regularly for about ten years in the joint organisation of the NATO Centre of Excellence for Military Medicine (MILMED COE) and the GE Armed Forces Hospital, Hamburg was also inspected by the Ministerial Commissioner of the Military Hospital – State Healthcare Centre, Prof. Dr. Lajos Pintér. Along with the participants of the course he could to get acquainted with the capabilities of the Military Hospital, and he could gain an insight into the process of the daily patient care, too.
