Preparation of the Hungarian-Slovenian CIMIC Sub-units

In the organisation of the HDF Civil-Military Cooperation and Psychological Operations Centre (HDFCMCPOC), the Hungarian and Slovenian CIMIC experts participated in a pre-deployment training under field circumstances at the base of the former Border Guard Directorate in Nagykanizsa. The binational CIMIC Sub-units practiced the execution of professional mission duties related to the rotation of the NATO Response Force (NRF) on April 23-24.

The preparation and training of the CIMIC Support Element – offered as part of the NRF-duties to be executed in 2018 – was carried out at the base of the former Border Guard Directorate in Nagykanizsa at the end of April. The experts of the Hungarian and Slovenian armed forces participated in the practice of loading and the intercom system each with 10 persons. Lieutenant Colonel István Guba, the Deputy Commander of the HDFCMCPOC in his evaluation pointed out that during the two-day training the two teams tested the operational readiness of the system in collaboration, with the most optimal use of space.

The objective of the training was to make the personnel of the NRF2018 Very High Readiness Joint Force CIMIC Support Unit Hungary-Slovenia (NRF2018 VJTF CSU HUN-SVN) capable to routinely implement the loading of the designated material, and then to develop the workspace under camp circumstances in such a way, that it can be suitable for effective performance in the shortest period of time.

The setting up of a so called “CIMIC-house" also constituted part of the training. After that the documents necessary for the operation of the area, and the documents of the Support Element were drawn up, and the duties were specified.
