NATO Conference Ends in Budapest

In the afternoon of Thursday, November 6, the International Concept Development and Experimentation Conference ended in Budapest. At the closing event on November 6, the participants evaluated the results of the discussion by voting in a survey.

Altogether more than 160 representatives from NATO allies and partner nations attended the conference, whose theme was the future of the Alliance. One of the main topics on the agenda was the joint action to be taken in the wake of the developments in Ukraine and the threat posed by the strengthening Islamic State.

During the concluding assessment, Brig.-Gen. Henrik Refshague Sommer (Headquarters Supreme Allied Commander Transformation, HQ SACT) said that the conference was not a complete victory, since there are still issues to be debated, but it was certainly successful because based on the feedback, more than two-third of the participants found the discussions useful. The results of the voting at the end of the conference show that 75 per cent of the participants found the venue, Budapest a perfect choice, and the general assessment of the conference was very good.
