After the completion of their six-month tour in Afghanistan, the soldiers returned to Hungary before Christmas.

The increasing role of the Hungarian Defence Forces in Afghanistan has called for the deployment of the HDF National Support Element in the operational area. They are responsible for the supply and logistics of Hungarian contingents stationing in Afghanistan and soldiers serving in individual positions.
Most of the personnel of the NSE, located in the German camp in Mazar-e Sharif, are from the HDF 43rd József Nagysándor Signal and Command Support Regiment. At the welcome back ceremony, it was reported by Col. (eng.) Dr. Gyula Révész, Contingent Commander that the first rotation of the HDF NSE had successfully completed their tasks.

Brig-Gen. Sándor Fucsku, Chief of Staff, HDF Joint Forces Command and Gábor Törő, the deputy chairman of the Fejér county General Assembly decorated the troops, who also received certificates at the event. Col. István Baráth, Chief of Logistics, Deputy Commander, HDF Joint Forces Command underlined in his speech that with the deployment of the National Support Element in an operational area, the logistic supply of Hungarian contingents stationing in the operational area is now continuous.

The troops have completed their tasks, met the requirements and proved that they can respond to the challenges, they are able to cooperate productively, as a result of which they have contributed to strengthening the positive image of Hungary in the international community.

Col. Baráth thanked the troops for their sacrificing work done far away from their home, in unusual circumstances. He underlined the important role of families, for the mission has been a great load on them, too; without their loving support, the mission could not have been successful.

The ceremony ended with the concert of the Székesfehérvár garrison band.
