Deputy Prime Minister and Defence Minister of Croatia Damir Krstičević visited Hungary at the invitation of Minister of Defence Tibor Benkő. After the negotiations in the Ministry of Defence, the Hungarian Minister called the discussion forward looking and fruitful. The Ministers announced that they had signed an inter-governmental agreement on air-policing, the main goal of which is that the air forces of the two countries can mutually help defend one another’s air space in justified cases. "This is good for Croatia and good for Hungary and it strengthens NATO’s air defence capabilities" – Tibor Benkő said.

The Croatian Defence Minister highlighted that the meetings with his Hungarian colleague will become a regular event and so next time they will meet again in the first half of 2020 in order to take stock of the results achieved so far, and to set new goals for the co-operation.
