In the morning of 5 April, the Company Commander, Capt. Norbert Szüki received an order to deploy the company. Reacting quickly and effectively to the orders received, the company first secured the assembly area, and then started to evacuate people from a LOT House, after it took determined and apparently routine action forcing a violent crowd to move back.

The multi-task exercise was directed on the spot by Lt.-Col. Markus Schwaiger, the Commanding Officer of the Multinational Battalion (MNBN), who received live first-hand feedback of the Hungarian soldiers’ excellent professional standards and determined task execution. The MNBN Commander expressed satisfaction with the Hungarian soldiers’ performance level and professional task execution, and emphasized with conviction that the fulfilment of the tasks ahead of them cannot pose any problems for a team like this. The MNBN headquarters and the national support element performed excellently, too, the former during the exercise planning and control phase, while the latter in the full execution of the tasks.

Chief of Staff EUFOR Brig.-Gen. József Szpisják had visited the maneuver company in the pre-exercise training phase, and on seeing the quality of the training, he already knew that the company is able to carry out its assigned tasks fully and precisely. He praised our soldiers’ professionalism on the training ground and during the performance of guard and security duties in the camp.

Completing an intensive first month, the exercise created complex and realistic scenarios designed to test the ability of MNBN personnel to undertake public order missions.
