NATO Medal after Six Months of Service

Brigadier General Reinhard Ruckenstuhl, the Austrian Deputy Commander of KFOR (DCOM KFOR) presented the NATO Medal for Kosovo service to the Hungarian soldiers serving in individual positions at a ceremony in Camp Film City, Pristina.

The soldiers of several nations lined up in the ceremony, where also Major General Salvatore Cuoci held a speech. The Italian Commander of KFOR said thanks for the tasks performed in the previous period, and expressed his appreciation for the co-operation, by which the KFOR HQ is able to command and control at a professional level the subunits serving in Kosovo, and the mission consisting of 29 nations at present – which is the longest and the most successful mission in the history of NATO. “It is the result of the professional dedication, that the KFOR’s complex mission system could guarantee peace in the region" – he underlined.

The Hungarian soldiers perform service in all areas of the KFOR HQ, from the staff director’s position through the military operations or protocol assignments down to the reconnaissance activities. They count on their knowledge and experiences in every professional field in one of the largest NATO missions.
