Cooperation – The Key to Success A siker kulcsa – az együttműködés

2013. március 1. 14:28

The probability of local conflicts has increased in the changed security environment of our days, which requires the harmonisation of all the participants’ activities. The institutional system of Civil–Military Cooperation (CIMIC) carries out this duty on the military field. This publication introduces the Reader to the “children” of the 21st century warfare, the Civil–Military Cooperation (CIMIC) and Psychological Operations (PSYOPS) capability. Without these capabilities, the success of military operations in our days would be inconceivable. Through their activity, they bridge a gap between the civil population and the military forces. Following the NATO-accession of Hungary, there was a need for the generation of the civil-military capability. The professional basis of CIMIC facilitated the addition of the psychological operations capability to the Hungarian Defence Forces’ scope of activities. The professional staff of the Centre have been discharging NATO standby duties and executing mission-related tasks practically from the moment of establishment. The authors of this publication have intended to familiarise the Readers with the unit embracing these two new capabilities, through the description of the eventful, but altogether just 8 year-long history of the Centre. They have tried to achieve this goal by illustrating the book with many pictures to outline – in a vivid and interesting way – the complex tasks, and the progress made. The organisation has national commitments as well, since they take part both in the territorial defence and in disaster situations in the execution of tasks. Those browsing through this album can learn about the everyday life and activities of the unit and the photos give a glimpse into the culture of far-away lands and the world of the people living there. This young unit established a reputation for itself both at home and before the allies by the successful execution of the extremely complicated and complex tasks. Their work proves that it is possible to give good and efficient responses to the challenges of our rapidly changing world.
