Medálparádé az EUFOR-parancsnokságon, a szarajevói Butmir táborban

November 28-án Szpisják József dandártábornok, az EUFOR törzsfőnöke vezetésével medálparádét rendeztek az EUFOR-parancsnokságon, a szarajevói Butmir táborban. A tábornok a rendezvényen nyolc nemzet harmincöt katonájának adta át az Európai Unió közös biztonság- és védelempolitikájának Althea-medálját, és köszönetet mondott nekik elhivatott szolgálatteljesítésükért Bosznia-Hercegovinában.

On 28 November 2017 EUFOR Chief of Staff, Brigadier General József Szpisják, presided over a medal parade at the EUFOR Headquarters in Camp Butmir, Sarajevo. He presented the European Union Common Security and Defence Policy Medal “Althea” to 35 service personnel from 8 different nations and thanked them for their dedicated service in Bosnia and Herzegovina.

EUFOR Chief of Staff visited AFBiH and EUFOR combined training action in Kiseljak

On 7 September 2017 EUFOR Chief Of Staff, Brigadier General Szpisják, visited the 2 Bn/ 5 Bde of the Armed Forces of BiH (AFBiH) in Kiseljak, where they were conducting a training package in coordination with EUFORs Multination battalion (MNBN). The military training focused on urbanized terrain preparation. The training will last an entire one week period (04.09-08.09) and involves one platoon from 2 Bn operating with one Austrian platoon from the MNBN.

On the 30th June 2017 the Chief Of Staff (COS) EUFOR, Brigadier General Szpisják opened a workshop, held at the EUFOR Headquarters , Camp Butmir. The workshop was based on “a comprehensive approach to capability and development” attendees included Major General Mirko Tepšić and other senior members of the Armed Forces of BIH.

Remembrance Ceremony on Anniversary of EUFOR Helicopter Crash

On 12 January 2017 EUFOR military and civilian personnel gathered at Monument Park in Camp Butmir to commemorate the deaths of 11 servicemen from the former Yugoslav Republic of Macedonia who were killed in a helicopter accident on the same day in 2008. The Charge d’Affaires from the Macedonian Embassy, Mr Aleksandar Krstevski; Chief of Staff EUFOR, Brigadier General Albert Sáfár; and Commander NATO, Brigadier General Giselle Wilz attended this ceremony of remembrance.

He also used the occasion to present a commendation to the AIROPS Chief.
