Strategic Airlift Capability to Support Exercise Saber Strike 2016

The Heavy Airlift Wing (HAW), the operational unit of the 12-nation Strategic Airlift Capability (SAC), supports Exercise Saber Strike 2016. Approximately 10,000 military personnel from 13 countries, including seven SAC member nations, participate in the exercise, which takes place in Estonia, Latvia and Lithuania from 30 May to 22 June.

Monthly Airdrop Training Events Enhance Readiness and Safety

31 MAR 2016 – PÁPA –  The Heavy Airlift Wing (HAW), the operational unit of the 12-nation Strategic Airlift Capability (SAC), maintains readiness to execute parachute assisted delivery of cargo and personnel to locations where its Boeing C-17 Globemaster III cargo jets would not be able to land. In order to sustain their skills, the multinational HAW aircrews and support personnel carry out monthly airdrop training events in Hungary.

Képesség és biztonság – légi teherdobás kiképzés havonta

A Nehéz Légiszállító Ezred (HAW) – a Stratégiai Légiszállítási Képesség (SAC) 12 nemzeti operatív szervezeti egysége olyan képességgel rendelkezik, mely során, ejtőernyő segítségével, rakományt, illetve csapatokat juttat el azokra a célterületekre, ahol a Boeing C-17 Globemaster III típusú teherszállító légi járművei nem tudnak leszállni. Hogy megőrizzék e képességüket, a HAW hajózó állománya és támogató személyzete havi rendszerességgel tart légi teherdobás kiképzést.

Strategic Airlift Capability Supports Exercise Cold Response 2016

11 MAR 2016 – PÁPA – Exercise Cold Response 2016 takes place in the Trøndelag counties in Central Norway from 19 February to 22 March. Approximately 15,000 military personnel from 14 Allied and Partner nations, including six Strategic Airlift Capability (SAC) member states, participate in the exercise. The operational unit of the SAC, the Heavy Airlift Wing (HAW), transports SAC member nations’ troops and equipment to and from Norway.

A Boeing támogató szervezete kapta a repülőgép-szimulátoros kiképzési szerződést

2015. december 31-én a Boeing cég szerződést kötött, melynek tárgya a Stratégiai Légiszállítási Képesség (Strategic Airlift Capability, SAC) állománya által végzett repülőgép-szimulátoros kiképzés folyamatának elősegítése. Az új megállapodás lehetővé teszi a Nehéz Légiszállító Ezred (Heavy Airlift Wing, HAW) számára, hogy a C–17-esek hajózószemélyzetének szimulátoros továbbképzését a Boeing cég tulajdonában lévő szimulátor segítségével biztosítsa az egyesült királysági Farnborough-ban.

Simulator Flight Training Contract Awarded to Boeing

On 31 December 2015, Boeing was awarded a simulator flight training contract, which streamlines the training process of Strategic Airlift Capability (SAC) personnel. The new arrangement enables the Heavy Airlift Wing (HAW) C-17 aircrews to conduct their continuation simulator training at a Boeing-owned simulator in Farnborough, United Kingdom.

Construction of SAC Hangar Complex Progressing Rapidly

In November 2013, the member nations of the Strategic Airlift Capability (SAC) approved the project plan to start work on a new hangar complex to be built at Pápa Air Base, Hungary. The construction work is proceeding in accordance with the work schedule, despite some technical challenges and minor changes initiated by the future users of the office buildings.
