On August 14 the Hungarian contingent of the United Nations Peacekeeping Force in Cyprus (UNFICYP) celebrated August 20 with a staff meeting and an official reception. Appropriately enough, the contingent held the day of King Saint Stephen, the founder of the Hungarian state in Camp St. Istvan, Athienou, which was dressed in red, white and green in honor of the significant event.
Cyprus Set to Begin EU Presidency

Cyprus is going to hold the rotating presidency of the Council of the European Union between July 1 and December 31, 2012. To mark the launch of the presidency, the embassies of the Visegrád Four countries organized a concert by the Visegrád Blues Band on June 11 in Nicosia, the capital of the divided island.
Military Skills Competition in Cyprus

The UN Peacekeeping Force in Cyprus (UNFICYP) organized the traditional Military Skills Competition in 2012 too. The Hungarian peacekeepers were among the competitors at the events held on May 30.
