The practical training of the CIMIC-PSYOPS basic course took place recently on the range of Püspökszilágy. Lt.-Col. István Guba, the Deputy Commander of the HDF Civil-Military Cooperation and Psychological Operations Center (HDF CMCPOC) told us that some 40 experts from four HDF units put into practice what they had learnt on the earlier one-week classroom instruction.

TISA Battalion: Lead Nation Role Transferred

On Wednesday, January 11 Lt.-Gen. Zoltán Orosz, the Deputy Chief of the MoD Defence Staff attended the transfer of authority ceremony of the Hungarian–Romanian–Slovak–Ukrainian TISA Multinational Engineer Battalion. At the event held in Hotel Hadik, Budapest, the Hungarian general transferred the responsibilities of the lead nation role to Lt.-Gen. Dr. Dan Ghica-Radu, the deputy chief of the general staff of the Romanian armed forces.

Hungary to Extend Gripen Lease by Ten Years

Thanks to the good partnership, the excellent cooperation in recent years and the Swedish partner’s regional interests, the several-month-long series of expert consultations has ended with success. As a result, an agreement has been reached on the extension of the lease contract of the JAS-39 Gripen fighters by ten years until 2026 – this was what Defence Minister Dr. Csaba Hende announced at a press conference after a six-party consultation held on Friday, January 6.

They Will Become Volunteer Reservists

On January 4, a total of 45 men and women applying for volunteer reservist service underwent medical and psychological aptitude as well as physical fitness tests in the Petőfi Sándor barracks of Budapest, where Col. Tibor Vanyur, the commander of the recently established HDF Augmentation and Central Register Command (HDF ACRC) was also present.

Honvéd Palace Guard Introduces Itself

On December 14 Gen. Dr. Tibor Benkő, the Chief of the MoD Defence Staff inspected the drill display of the HDF Support Brigade 32nd National Honvéd Parade Unit and the Honvéd Parade Guard. Brig.-Gen. László Szegő, the First Aide-de-Camp to the President of the Republic, Brig.-Gen. István Szabó Kun, the Commander of the HDF Support Brigade and Norbert Kiss, the Head of the Public Relations Bureau at the Office of the President of the Republic of Hungary also attended the event held in the Petőfi barracks, Budapest.

HUN PRT-12: Ready for the Mission

The soldiers of the incoming 12th rotation of the HDF Provincial Reconstruction Team (HUN PRT-12) recently mounted a culmination exercise (CULEX) to demonstrate their readiness to deploy on a mission abroad. Most of the contingent has been drawn from the HDF 5th ‘Bocskai István’ Infantry Brigade of Hódmezővásárhely.

Campers in the Parliament
