The visit was made apropos of a video uploaded by the British Embassy that has become very popular with the students of the military secondary school. In it, Iain Lindsay speaks Hungarian as he takes his viewers on a quick tour of Scottish Budapest, with some words from the Scottish national poet Robert Burns’ poems. Besides, three years ago, in March 2015 Head Teacher Gábor Berkecz, and a delegation from the Ministry of Defence spent four days in London on a fact-finding mission to study the British Combined Cadet Force (CCF), and later incorporated most of this model into the defence education program of the Kratochvil School.

The presentation of the school started with a salvo fired by WWII military re-enactors. In what followed, Ambassador Lindsay observed an English class and an armament technology tutorial, and saw the programming of a Lego robot and a very spectacular CrossFit demo by the students.

The ambassador was impressed by what he had seen and also by the students’ preparedness, and congratulated the school on its results and performance.
