In Hungary the defence leadership makes great efforts to develop and/or revive the military capabilities – pointed out Dr. Gábor Márki in reply to the question of the press. The Deputy State Secretary for Defence Economy of the Ministry of Defence officially opened the Hungarian Pavilion on September 13.

The Defence and Security Equipment International (DSEi), the world’s largest defence and security equipment fair opened its gates in London, on Tuesday, September 13, where several Hungarian firms participate, too. At the event lasting until Friday 1300 firms represent themselves, among them such names as BAE Systems, General Dynamics, Lockheed Martin or the Finmeccanica.

The Hungarian pavilion was opened on Tuesday by the Deputy State Secretary for Defence Economy of the Ministry of Defence Dr. Gábor Márki, who after the opening ceremony told the Hungarian News Agency (MTI), that seven Hungarian defence and security companies display their products on a joint stand. Dr. Gábor Márki also told us that the motto of the fair of this year and the NATO special conference connected to the key event is: “Novel Approach of Cost-efficient Developments".

Reacting upon the MTI’s assertion that the European NATO Allies have been criticized in the recent period by the United States and also on the side of Great-Britain because of the defence expenditures regarded as low, the Deputy State Secretary said that at present the world is experiencing one of the most severe financial crises in history, which is accompanied by the budgets in decline and the prices on the rise. However, in Hungary the Defence leadership makes great efforts to develop (and revive where necessary) the military capabilities. Dr. Gábor Márki referred to the setting up of the reserve system, and to the improvement of the military medical service playing a vital role on the London Exhibition as well.
