Force Protection Platoon Servicemember Receives Deputy Commander’s Coin
Szöveg: honvedelem.hu | 2016. május 10. 9:00The third rotation of the Hungarian Defence Forces Force Protection Platoon has been deployed in the Afghanistan theatre since last November. During their tour so far, the Hungarian soldiers have participated in several hundred close protection escort and security missions. Their activity focuses on providing force protection for the work of the Hungarian advisory team. At the same time, they often carry out missions related to other advisors and the leaders of the Train Advise Assist Command North (TAAC-N).
On the initiative of the commander of the Afghan National Border Police (ANBP) 6th Brigade Advisory Team – and on the platoon leader’s recommendation – Col. Cedric Carrington, Deputy Commander, Train Advise Assist Command North (TAAC-N) recently presented a coin in honor to Master Corporal Péter Szlukovinyi, one of the most experienced combat vehicle drivers of the platoon.
Besides the assignments in his billet description, the master corporal has also executed the “Guardian Angel" (i.e. close protection) duties by high professional standards. Among others, he was responsible for Col. Carrington’s security during a visit to the ANBP Headquarters.
