The four-member air advisory team (AAT) will perform their mentoring tasks for the capability development of the Afghan Air Force in Kabul until May 2019.
The operational deployment was preceded by several months of mission rehearsal training taking place in Hungary, in Czechia and in Croatia. The Hungarian service members have been engaged in the NATO’s Afghanistan operation since 2010, the thirtieth – planned as the last – rotation of this contingent will be deployed in these days.
On behalf of the acting Commander of the HDF Joint Force Command, Colonel Dr. Tamás Bali, the Deputy Commander of the HDF 86th Szolnok Helicopter Base said farewell to the soldiers departing on the mission. The farewell ceremony was graced by the attendance of Mr. Ferenc Szalay, the Mayor of Szolnok, Ms. Ildikó Urbán, the Directress of the Government Office of Jász-Nagykun-Szolnok County and Mr. Miklós Piroska, the President of the General Assembly the Jász-Nagykun-Szolnok County.
