Szöveg: Major Beatrix Ács | 2019. április 10. 16:54HDF ”Görgei Artúr” CBRN Area Control Centre (HDF CBRN ACC) started an international Chemical, Biological, Radiological and Nuclear (CBRN) Warning and Reporting Course with the participation of four NATO Member States this year for the fourth time on 1st April.
The CBRN evaluator’s job is not only focused on the analysis of the impact of possible uses of weapons of mass destruction (WMD) in armed conflicts, but also encompasses the evaluation of chemical substance releases and times of arrival calculation in the event of peacetime industrial disasters and road transport accidents.
As a result of the co-operation related to NATO’s Framework Nations Concept, during the instruction conducted under the supervision of the HDF Command Force Planning Directorate, the students acquired the tasks of alerting the organisations in danger, in order to be able to reduce casualties, and ensure combat efficiency and survivability and minimize risks in case of emergency.
During the two weeks of the course, in the interest of strengthening international CBRN defence training and preparation, eight participants from Belgium, Czechia, Poland and Lithuania, were introduced to the CBRN evaluation procedures in accordance with the latest NATO standards. They learned the methods for quick assessment of CBRN situation, in the interest of supporting the commander’s decisions.
To ensure the continuous operation of the Hungarian Defence Forces CBRN Warning and Reporting System, every year the Centre organises similar courses in Hungarian for HDF units. Such types of international preparations had also taken place in the previous years, and then the participants mainly came from the NATO’s peace partner countries. Due to the growing interest, the English-language course is expected to be organised in 2020, too.
