Paying Tribute to the Hero’s Memory
Szöveg: hungariandefence.com | 2011. július 21. 8:40On July 12, the Hungarian troops on their tour of duty in Afghanistan held a commemoration at the memorial wall in Mazar-e Sharif to mark the third anniversary of the tragic death of posthumous Maj. Krisztián Nemes, the war hero of the Hungarian Defence Forces.
Led by Col. (Eng.) István Balassa, the commander of the third rotation of the HDF National Support Element (NSE), the entire Hungarian contingent lined up at the event, together with the off-duty soldiers serving in individual positions and the personnel of the HUN PRT-10 stationed in Mazar-e Sharif.
During the memorial service, the commander of the HDF National Support Element recited the professional career of posthumous Maj. Krisztián Nemes and the circumstances of the tragedy. The troops held a candle-light vigil and observed a one-minute silence at the end of the commemoration.
