British C–17 Arrives at Pápa

End of CULP Program in Hungary

On Monday, June 20, the closing ceremony of the Cultural Understanding and Language Proficiency (CULP) 2016 Program took place at the Embassy of the United States in Budapest. The four-week program involved close to 40 US Army cadets who provided English language proficiency training in several garrisons of the Hungarian Defence Forces.

Strategic Airlift Capability Moves to New Offices

On Tuesday, 24 May the Strategic Airlift Capability (SAC) relocated to new offices and facilities at its home station, the HDF Pápa Air Base. Although the Heavy Airlift Wing – the unit known for operating C–17 cargo aircraft – still has the address of the air base, its personnel will continue their work in brand new buildings.

New Chief of Staff in EUFOR

Having completed his one-year tour abroad, Brig.-Gen. Zoltán Mihócza bade farewell to the EUFOR Althea mission in Camp Butmir, Sarajevo, Bosnia-Herzegovina on Friday, 29 April. It was Hungarian Brig.-Gen. Albert Sáfár that took over responsibilities from the outgoing Chief of Staff.
