New Lead Nation Takes Over TISA Battalion

Following Hungary, Romania took over the lead of the TISA Multinational Engineer Battalion on Thursday, 14 January. At a meeting held in Hotel Hadik, Budapest, Hungarian Deputy Chief of Defence Lt.-Gen. Dr. Zoltán Orosz and Deputy Chief of the Romanian General Staff for Operations and Training Maj.-Gen. Cristinel Cernea signed the records of transfer.

Balaton 2015 – Success of the V4 Countries

Baltic Air Policing – Halfway Through the Mission

The first Hungarian contingent in the Baltic Air Policing (BAP) mission has been serving for more than two months now. After reaching the halfway point of the four-month mission, according to plans, some members of the contingent have been rotated out. On Thursday, 5th November, the newcomers – who are deployed to relieve the personnel returning home – flew from the HDF 59th “Dezső Szentgyörgyi” Air Base, Kecskemét, Hungary to Siauliai Air Base, Lithuania aboard two An-26 transport planes.

Slovak Troops Arrive in Hungary to Join Combined Training Balaton 2015

On Sunday, 1 November Slovak troops arrived in the Hódmezővásárhely barracks of the HDF 5th “Bocskai István” Infantry Brigade. On the same day, they joined the ongoing combined training Balaton 2015, which serves as a preparation for the crisis situation caused by mass migration.
