The Limanowa hussar memorial foray was one of last year’s most interesting undertakings. Eight active-duty soldiers and reservists of the Hungarian Defence Forces went horseback riding along a route which had been taken a century ago by their hussar forebears on their way to the front in Galicia. We interviewed Col. Barnabás Ádám, the commander of the foray about the hardships of the journey and the emotional added value.

Don Heroes Memorial Tour – This Year Again

The Association of Hungarian Reservists (Matasz) is going to organize the Don Heroes Memorial Tour in 2015 too. KFOR-12 – Combat Ready!

“Combat ready!” The key leaders of the 12th rotation of the HDF KFOR Contingent (KFOR-12 HUNCON) – which is to deploy in Kosovo soon – borrowed this well-known motto of the Szolnok-based HDF 25/88 Airmobile Battalion to describe the training level of the unit, which closed the pre-deployment training phase with conducting a culmination exercise at the Táborfalva military training base on Tuesday, December 9.

Remembering the Victims of the Second World War

On Tuesday, August 12 the two-week war grave care youth camp ended with a commemoration held in conjunction with a wreath-laying ceremony in the German–Hungarian military cemetery of Budaörs. The event was attended by those Hungarian, German and Polish students who restored and washed down the gravestones of war heroes in the cemetery during the time of the camp.

They Learn to Value Peace

German, Polish and Hungarian young volunteers arrived at the German–Hungarian military cemetery of Budaörs on Tuesday, August 5. During a weeklong war grave car youth camp, they wash down the gravestones and restore the inscriptions on them.

The Hill of Remembrance
