„Afganisztán jobbra érdemes ország”

Dr. Boldizsár Gábor ezredest, az Afganisztánban települő Magyar Honvédség Tartományi Újjáépítési Csoport nyolcadik váltásának, szeptemberben hazatért parancsnokát, a belügyminiszter az afganisztáni hadműveleti területen szolgáló magyar rendőrök munkájának segítéséért, az együttműködésért, elismerésben részesítette. A dísztőrt Zsinka András, főosztályvezető adta át az ezredesnek, a Nemzetközi Oktatási és Polgári Válságkezelési Központ képviseletében megjelentek előtt is megköszönve az együttműködést.

Magyar „stratégiai” századosok az ISAF Északi Regionális Parancsnokságán

Morálisan kiegyensúlyozott és csapatjátékos alkatúak – fogalmazta meg nyolc magyar századosról egy német ezredes és egy amerikai őrnagy. A címben alkalmazott „stratégiai” jelző az amerikai tengerészgyalogos tábornok, General Charles Chandler Krulak által használt kifejezés, amely azokra a katonákra vonatkozik, akik korunk fegyveres küzdelmeit kell, hogy megvívják.

Amikor az ember misszióba indul, felkészítik a szociális sokkra, de ez sok esetben nem elég. Európai szemmel nézve az afgán emberek sokkal szegényebbek, mint amit vártunk. Magyarországon a szegényeknek is van cipője, ruhája, takarója és ha megbetegszik, akkor a kórházban jut neki ágy, takaró és gyógyszer. Afganisztánban sajnos az a természetes, hogy sok házban nincs fűtés és sokaknak még cipőre se jut pénz.

HDF OMLT has proved itself through committed service

On January 7, the Hungarian unit of the Hungarian Defence Forces Operational Mentoring and Liaison Team (HDF OMLT) that returned from Afghanistan was greeted by Maj-Gen. Zoltán Orosz, Deputy Chief of the HDF Defence Staff and US Defence Attaché Col. Robert W. Duggleby at a Welcome Home ceremony held with military honors in the presence of the troops’ families and commanders inside the Kossuth Barracks in Debrecen.
