NATO Accreditation and Attachés’ Visit to Szentendre

Following a successful accreditation course last year, the HDF NCO Academy acquired the NATO accreditation of the Counter-Improvised Explosive Device Train the Trainer (C-IED T3) course and the “NATO Selected” course qualification. The leadership of the unit received the rights to organize and run the course from the representative of the NATO Allied Command Transformation (ACT) in a ceremony on Thursday, March 22.

World’s First Hussar Museum Opens

“The International Hussar Museum has a unique and outstanding collection, and commemorates one of the most popular and widely known aspects of Hungarian military traditions. The institution of hussars is the Hungarian people’s contribution to the evolution of European warfare, so we can rightly take pride in it” – pointed out Géza Szőcs, the Secretary of State for Culture of the Ministry of National Resources at the opening ceremony of the first hussar museum in the world on March 3.

Farewell to the 6th Rotation of the HDF KFOR Contingent

The Hungarian troops can do a lot for the normalization of the situation in the Balkans – Lt.-Gen. Zoltán Orosz said in the Kossuth barracks, Debrecen on February 9. The Deputy Chief of the MoD Defence Staff attended the farewell ceremony held for the 6th rotation of the HDF KFOR contingent.

The Hungarian Military Cartography received Hungarian Heritage Award

For its performance of historical importance the Hungarian Heritage Award was presented to the Hungarian military cartography, whose inheritor today is the HDF Geoinformation Service (HDF GEOS). The awards ceremony staged on December 17 in the Banquet Hall of the Hungarian Academy of Sciences was highlighted with the presence of Minister of Defence Dr. Csaba Hende.

Farewell to the Tenth Rotation in Győr

The farewell ceremony for the 10th troop rotation of the HDF EUFOR Contingent (EUFOR-10 HUNCON) took place in Győr on Thursday, December 15. Maj.-Gen. László Domján, the Commander of the HDF Joint Force Command (HDF JFC) greeted the troops to deploy with the mission in Bosnia-Herzegovina. In what followed, the EUFOR-10 HUNCON led by Lt.-Col. Tamás Papp was blessed by Maj. Gergely Hankóczi, the Reformed field chaplain of the contingent.

Remembering Soldier Heroes in Solymár

Ceremonial Book Launch at ZMNDU

The „Ludovika Academy” is a noble-sounding name – also beyond military circles – which deservedly earns recognition. It is “Primus inter pares”, i.e. first among the equals among the time-honored educational institutions in Hungary that provide excellent qualifications. The launch of the recently published elaborate book on the Academy was held on October 5 in the banquet hall of the Zrínyi Miklós National Defence University (ZMNDU).
