Emergency Management of Battlefield Injuries Course

Between 7–11 March, the Emergency Management of Battlefield Injuries (EMBI) Course took place in Budapest with the participation of 46 representatives from 12 nations. The training – which was aimed at sharing deployment experience in EMBI and state-of-the-art knowledge of techniques and procedures – was co-organized by the NATO Centre of Excellence for Military Medicine (MILMED COE), Budapest in cooperation with École du Val-de-Grâce, Paris.

The course was hosted by the European Police College (CEPOL), and the practical training sessions were held in the Military Hospital – HDF Medical Centre. The lecturers were experienced and internationally renowned foreign instructors, and the practical training was supervised by experts from the Military Hospital and the University of Pécs.

This year the main focus of the course was the organization of hospital treatment for a massive influx of critically bleeding casualties and in-hospital TRIAGE.
