Italian Officers in the Ministry of Defence

The general staff course of the Italian ISSMI has already organised several times study tours to Hungary. This year’s visit has been co-ordinated – similar to the earlier occasions – by the Personnel Directorate of the HDF General Defence Staff. In the framework of the recently renewed, active, bilateral cooperation in military-education between the Italian and the Hungarian Armed Forces, seventeen Italian military officers pay a visit to Hungary between May 27 and June 1.

On the first day of the five-day study tour the students of the course were introduced to the structure, educational system, operational planning and operational role of the Hungarian Defence Forces (HDF) in the Balaton Street Headquarters of the Ministry. In the next days the Italian delegation visits the Faculty of Military Science and Officer Training of the National University of Public Service (NUPS), the HDF Joint Force Command (HDF JFC), and the HDF NCO Academy, where professional presentations are held for them.

During the general staff course the guests participate in cultural programs as well, so that they can get acquainted with the Hungarian history and our traditions.
