Largest Military Exercise of the Year Starts in Hungary
Szöveg: Ministry of Defence | 2015. június 5. 11:00More than 1700 Hungarian and foreign troops are participating with some 600 pieces of equipment in the Capable Logistician 2015 (CL15) logistic exercise, which is running in the training areas of the HDF Bakony Combat Training Centre between 1–26 June.
The CL15 exercise is going to be this year’s biggest test of NATO member states and partner nations. In this week alone, more than 300 troops and close to 250 pieces of equipment are deploying to the exercise from around 20 countries. The road transportation involves the motorways M0, M1, M5 and M7 as well as main roads No. 8, 82 and 83.
The objectives of the exercise are to standardize logistic support for international forces by NATO principles, to establish procedures and to tighten up cooperation between partner countries. As the host nation of the exercise, Hungary is performing full-scale real life support and Host Nation Support tasks – demonstrating the support capabilities of the Hungarian Defence Forces – and also takes the lead in other functional areas such as the operation of logistic information systems.
Joint exercises strengthen the national defence capability of the Hungarian Defence Forces and promote efficient work and cooperation among allies.
